Sonic Acts

The third issue of _Ecoes_, Sonic Act’s periodic magazine about art in the age of pollution, is out now. Leading on from its previous instalments, the latest _[Ecoes](https://www.sonicacts.com/discover/magazine-ecoes-issue-3)_ reimagines and reroutes an anthropocentric vision of the Earth and nonhuman entities as a limitless resource.

Ahead of the upcoming Sonic Acts Festival 2022, _Ecoes_ delves into the legacies of toxic infrastructures and hazardous waste, uncovering ways of reclaiming and refiguring definitions of ‘normal’ and ‘natural’, multi-scalar and multi-sited journeys of microbes, eels, glaciers and unstable polder grounds. Throughout this voluminous issue, images and texts combine to reveal the elemental forces, synthetic or natural, that create tension in the world around us. Contemporary theoretical discourse and speculative fiction on weather as a tool to destabilise knowledge traditions, interviews with artists whose practices invite us to look and listen anew, and one inlay, a map to move within non-normative time – all gather to create a rigorous, diverse and visually striking edition.
